HOUSE MOTTO: GREAT AS ONE, MIGHTY AS MANY!

2020/2021 HOUSE CHARITY: HELP FOR HEROES

HOUSE ETHOS:

The Gregg motto encapsulates the very essence of what we stand for here in this positive and forward looking House. Our focus is upon creating a balanced approach where individual growth and team spirit are valued equally. We encourage every pupil to be the absolute best they can be as they are supported by a strong, positive team of staff who constantly strive to help them develop a strong sense of resilience and self-esteem. This then enables them to prosper both within school and out. Furthermore, it is our hope here in Gregg House, that these skills will be continually developed and will help our pupils to grow into adulthood with individual confidence and clarity of mind. Similarly, just as we like to help our pupils to develop a strong sense of self, we also seek to nurture a firm sense of collegiate cooperation. We seek to create a House spirit where everyone is included and encouraged to work together and succeed as a team. This is no more evident than in our team Inter-House competition involvement where our Competition Coordinator works tirelessly to ensure we are always represented by an enthusiastic and capable team of participants. Are Gregg pupils great as one? Certainly. Are they mighty as many? Absolutely. Will we continually strive for excellence? Definitely!

He received the Military Medal on 26 March 1917, for crawling between the opposing lines under the eyes of the enemy to establish the identity of a dead German soldier. He was later a Sergeant Major and served in World War 2 with Sherwood Foresters which later became The Green Jackets, fitting as Gregg house colour is Green
